Alley Cats

Antwan Horfee, Eva Beresin, Trudy Benson, Dennis Buck, Luciano Calderon, Geoff Davis, Francesco Igory Deiana, Monica Kim Garza, Michael Günzer, Todd James, Mischa Kuball, Prosper Legault, Eddie Martinez, Loren Munk, Miguel Ángel Payano Jr., Parra, Frédéric Platéus, Diego Prieto, Heather Bause Rubinstein, Marika Thunder, Robin Winters, Nicholas Krushenick Ruttkowski;68 inaugurates Alley Cats, an annual summer exhibition in New York foregrounding artists whose work has developed on its own terms and exchanges that rarely move in straight lines or settle into neat categories. This year, eleven artists from the gallery’s roster are joined by an artist who sharpens, challenges, or expands their way of seeing: mentors, co-conspirators, or fellow travelers whose work cracks open something in their own. Generations and sensibilities cut across painting, sculpture, and installation. Some connections are obvious. Others sit deeper in attitude, rhythm, or approach. Alley Cats brings those cross-currents into view—art moving sideways, hand to hand, studio to studio, long before institutions know what to call it.
