NicolettiNıcolettı is delighted to present Dirty, a solo exhibition by British artist Zoe Williams (b. 1983, UK). Working across a wide range of media including installation, moving image, sculpture, drawing, and performance, Williams’ practice explores the fetishistic nature of materials and their relationship with embodied modes of consumption and expenditure. Through a feminist lens, her work analyses and deconstructs contemporary economic systems and power structures. Extending the research developed in her recent solo exhibitions Petrolia (Ciaccia Levi, Paris, 2024) and En Liquide (Centre d’art contemporain du Parvis, Tarbes, 2025), which examined the circulation of capital through liquid materials such as oil, wine, and urine, William’s exhibition at Nıcolettı turns to food – specifically butter – to probe the ideological underpinnings of collective consumption, excess, and waste. Through a new series of photographs and bronze sculptures, Williams’ exhibition considers food as a site where surplus is sensuously displayed and violently undone, showing how excess is no longer solely a ritualistic outcome but a tool used to tease capitalistic value and spectacle. Zoe Williams is a British artist who currently lives in Marseille, FR. Solo exhibitions include Le Parvis, Tarbes; Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb; Kaunas Artists' House, Kaunas; MAH, Geneva; Fraeme Projects, Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille; Dortmunder Kunstverein, Dortmund; Mimosa House, London; Outpost, Norwich; and Spike Island, Bristol. Her works and performances has been shown in international institutions such as Somerset House, London; Tate St Ives; Roberts Institute of Art, London; DCA, Dundee; Heidelberger Kunstverein; Le Crédac, Ivry-Sur-Seine; Villa Arson, Nice; and Fondazione Sandretto, Turin. Her work is part of the FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine La Méca collection in France and Collezione Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, Italy.
