To experience the motion of art, Chellis Baird blur the lines between paint and canvas, color and form. Twisted, knotted and stuffed ropes highlight the sublime tension between brush and canvas, at times violating the confines of the frame by bubbling over the two-dimensional surface. Yana Beylinson dives deep into the botanical complexities of floral composition, employing the immediacy and ephemeral nature of live subjects as a catalyst for purposeful and focused action without the interference of daily distractions. Marykate Maher works in both sculpture and collage. She utilizes abstraction, symbols, and repetitive forms to reference the body, geology, and mythologies found in landscapes. Her sculptures focus on weighted and grounded objects, referencing lines, shapes, and textures found in nature, such as rocks, site markers, and geological phenomena. Rachel Rubenstein's artwork explores the empowering potential of change through a combination of repeating patterns and precise mark-making. Rubenstein's art centers on the idea of transformation as a liberating force. These works are a blend of abstraction and color field techniques and they possess a powerful emotional impact. Noga Yukovik-Etzioni's studio operates like a factory, where she utilizes carpentry machinery, lathes, and various tools to work with materials such as cardboard, cork, and rubber, which convey an ascetic aesthetic. Through a labor-intensive process, she combines and transforms these materials into objects that resemble wood.
