News/Prints: Printmaking & the Newspaper
International Print CenterInternational Print Center New York presents News/Prints: Printmaking and the Newspaper, curated by Anders Bergstrom and Anne LaFond. The exhibition will be on view at 508 West 26th St, 5th Floor, from September 5 - October 19, 2013, opening on September 11, 2013, with a reception from 6-8 pm. News/Prints: Printmaking and the Newspaper is a group exhibit of prints that highlights the longstanding relationship of printmaking and the printed newspaper. From early woodblocks printed in 16th century German newsbooks and colonial American newspapers, to contemporary artists who incorporate or respond to printed mass media in their work, the exhibit reflects the complex nature of this relationship. Emerging and established contemporary artists are included.
