Sadie Laska
The Linear Project of a Good Life
Alex BernsSadie Laska, born 1974, first exhibited her expressive abstracts bearing blotchy tube colors speckled with glued detritus in 2012 at Kerry Schuss Gallery in NY. Laska's solo exhibition, The Linear Project of a Good Life, her first with Alex Berns, consists of four large abstract paintings Laska made upon returning to NY from France. While underwater caustics, graffitied advertisements, and second generation abstract expressionism are baked into the work it is important to note the aloof tone in these paintings.
