Slow Burn

Megan Mulrooney

27 June – 15 August 2026

Slow Burn presents new oil paintings by Kevin Yaun exploring the tension between sublime atmospheric landscape and the hard-edged interruptions of windows, screens, and architectural fragments. The exhibition includes a series of works in direct dialogue with the idealized light of Maxfield Parrish, grounding Yaun's investigation in a distinctly American tradition of romantic naturalism. Kevin Yaun (b. 1986 Lawrenceville, GA, lives and works in Los Angeles) holds an MFA from Laguna College of Art & Design. He has exhibited with Megan Mulrooney, Los Angeles; Thom Oosterhof, The Hartz Project, Hong Kong; Galerie Ego, Marfa; Carl Larsson, Los Angeles; Billis Williams, Los Angeles; Sonder, Corona Del Mar; and the Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach. His work is held in the collections of the Pacific Art Foundation and the Atlanta Fulton County Art Collection.
