Then and Now
Karma InternationalCharles Arnoldi (b. 1946) is an American painter, printmaker and sculptor who burst onto the art scene in the early 1970s. In 1972, Arnoldi was featured at Documenta V curated by Harald Szeemann with a work from his Stick Painting series in which he utilized burned tree branches he had gathered in Malibu after a fire. Throughout his career, Arnoldi has continued to explore elements of nature and has gained notoriety for his colorful, large-scale abstractions. Recently, Arnoldi has been working on a series of paintings inspired by rock formations he saw on a trip to Machu Picchu, drawing inspiration from the imperfect and secure structures of the rocks. Then and Now will feature a number of new works from the Machu Picchu series as well as a selection of his historic works.
