Henrique FariaRicardo Corredor Claudia Lavegas Daniel Reynolds Luis Villamizar Sala Mendoza and Henrique Faria New York are pleased to present Por los 4 Vientos: Resonancias Amerindias en el Arte Contemporáneo en Venezuela, a series of four exhibitions that bring together the work of four artists whose practices engage with the traditions of Indigenous peoples from Venezuela and Colombia, recognizing their relevance, contributions, and symbolic richness today. The participating artists explore various approaches to the Amerindian universe through contemporary languages, making visible the cultural, historical, and material resonances of this legacy. During the opening, Ramsés Larzábal presents a performance titled Yo solo quiero raspar yuca. Me sabe a casabe. In it, Larzábal turns yuca—an ancestral Latin American staple—into a symbolic vehicle to explore the tensions between desire, identity, eroticism, and popular culture. Por los 4 Vientos invites us to reflect on the ongoing vitality of Indigenous cultures and their ability to resonate within current artistic practices, creating bridges between times, territories, and ways of seeing the world.
