Michael Joo: Sweat Models 1991–2026 is a solo exhibition by Michael Joo organized by guest curator Christopher Y. Lew. It brings together rarely shown works from the early 1990s alongside projects conceived decades ago and realized for the first time. Shaped by Joo’s background in biology and the cultural conditions of the era, the works explore systems of measurement, materiality, and the abstraction of the human body. Seen today, they feel strikingly prescient, resonating with contemporary questions around technology, data, and identity.
