Exorcism: Inside Out

Richard Saltoun Gallery is pleased to present Exorcism: Inside Out, a solo exhibition by pioneering LA-based, London-born Feminist Surrealist, Penny Slinger (b. 1947). The exhibition celebrates over 50 years of Slinger's genre-defining work in Surrealist photo-collage as a cornerstone of the Feminist imaginary, continuing to inspire, allure and provoke to the present day. Exorcism: Inside Out transforms the gallery into an immersive audio-visual environment, fully enveloping viewers in Slinger's profoundly personal exploration of desire, identity, and the subconscious. The exhibition features original photo-collages from the artist's iconic series, An Exorcism (1970-77), which is often hailed as her magnum opus, and widely recognised as one of the most important contributions to British Surrealism.
