Blood Harmony

Christophe Gaillard

31 January – 1 March 2026

Blood Harmony is a multimedia installation that is based around a fictional singing duo, The Landry Brothers, performed by Cate Giordano and Jane Cramer. The title takes its name from the term “blood harmony” which describes an intricate musical harmony that is only possible between close relatives, creating a complex vocal arrangement with a tangible intimacy that can only be achieved by those who are bound by blood. Cate Giordano (b. 1986, United States) shoots films, creates objects, and performs in various states of cross-dress. The work often takes the form of videos and large-scale installations that combine actors with sculptural environments made from materials such as foam, wood, plaster, and sewn fabric. Giordano regularly performs multiple characters of different genders within each piece, creating self-contained worlds that explore power dynamics and relationships within history, politics, and popular culture.
