New York based gallery James Fuentes is pleased to announce Amalia Ulman's forthcoming exhibition Stock Images Of War at Four Six One Nine in Los Angeles. This is a one time Los Angeles project by James Fuentes. Stock Images Of War was first exhibited at James Fuentes in New York in January 2015 and subsequently travelled to the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. Amalia Ulman, who recently exhibited at Art Basel Statements and Frieze Live London, will be participating in forthcoming exhibitions at The Whitechapel Gallery and Tate Modern in London. The exhibition at the Tate Modern entitled Performing for the Camera discusses the relationship between photography and performance, at the Whitechapel Ulman will participate in a showcase investigating the impact of computer and Internet technologies on artists from the mid-1960s to present day. Artists Statement on Stock Images of War: 'My confinement is the victory of the skyscrapers over my bones." In a global community of emotions, war is gossip, torture is a parallel act of deconstruction and images serve the function of heavy artillery. Cherry Picker, Sherwood Forest, Pink Rose, Night Blossoms. Becoming a log: logging in, logging out. When narcissism becomes a stratagem we need mirrors to learn our poses, to attract and seduce like the United Kingdom does with a third world country.
