David ZwirnerDavid Zwirner is pleased to present an exhibition featuring works by Magdalena Suarez Frimkess, which is organized by Shio Kusaka. Suarez Frimkess has long resided in Venice Beach, California, and is well known for forms that employ familiar iconography, ranging from Mickey Mouse to the Chilean comic-book character Condorito, among other figures and motifs. The Los Angeles–based Kusaka has become known for her playful and open approach to the ceramic medium, as well as her characteristic line work and intuitive sense of color. This presentation also includes collaborative works created together by the two artists. Suarez Frimkess's work was recently the subject of a major survey exhibition, The Finest Disregard, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in 2024–2025.
