50+50: A Creative Century from Chouinard to CalArts

Smith, Carrie Mae Weems Redcat Gallery presents the inaugural exhibition of its first group of ten alumni artists' limited-series works and editions. The year 2021 marks the 50th Anniversary of California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and the 100th anniversary of its forebear institution, Chouinard. In celebration of this milestone, the Institute will launch 50+50: A Creative Century from Chouinard to CalArts, an unprecedented artist-led scholarship endowment initiative. CalArts, in partnership with publisher Lisa Ivorian-Jones, will newly commission and sell artwork series and limited editions by a prominent group of alumni, representing a broad range of cross-disciplinary art-making.
