C24 GalleryC24 presents Nirit Takele: You Belong Here, The Seventh View, and Seçkin Pirim: The Resulting Process. You Belong Here Artist Nirit Takele has created a body of work celebrating the beauty and regal bearing of her Ethiopian-Israeli community. Moroccan-Israeli artist Orit Ben Shitrit’s films and photo collages are surreal compositions that explore everything from borders and religious xenophobia to global catastrophes and duplicitous leadership. These artists each play against the experience of being “othered” to channel their personal histories of mixed identity, culminating in a multi-media exhibition that collectively explores notions of self and belonging in a complex and dangerous world. — The Seventh View This exhibition features the work of 21 artists who were chosen to participate in the 2019 ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, based in the UK. The Discerning Eye annual exhibition is a show of small works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world: two artists, two collectors and two critics. The 2019 selectors included artists Gill Button and Charlotte Hodes, collectors Kwame Kwei-Armah and Sir Tim Rice, and critics John Penrose and Louis Wise. We have mined the choices of the six selectors to create a seventh perspective on the exhibition. The Seventh View is the first time the Discerning Eye Exhibition is sharing its works in the United States. — The Resulting Process Turkish artist Seçkin Pirim is well known for his precisely detailed sculptural works, including an extraordinary series of large-scale works on paper. In this exhibition, Pirim has used the cut-outs from his Birds on Wires series to create a new collection of smaller, more intimate pieces that examine the deeper layers of his creative process.
