Flux
Pace University Art GalleryBarbara Friedman Linda Herritt Will Pappenheimer Pace University Art Gallery is pleased to present Flux. This exhibition showcases the work of three distinguished contemporary artists, who are also long-time members of the Art Department faculty at Pace University. As they prepare to retire at the end of the Spring 2025 semester, Flux celebrates their lasting impact on the university and their artistic contributions. The exhibition title, Flux, reflects both the shift in the artists' careers—from the classroom to the studio—and a unifying thematic thread that links their distinct artistic practices at this moment in their trajectories. In her oil paintings, including three large new works created specifically for the show, Barbara Friedman captures glimpses of figuration emerging from sweeping layers of poured paint. Linda Herritt explores text as both form and concept in her prints and a site-specific wall installation, pushing beyond legibility. Will Pappenheimer's work includes video, augmented reality, and digital prints generated by AI text prompts, all investigating a devastated post-human environment.
