The artists placed together here share a desire for a certain level of process or ritual in their forms. These methods of production and forms range from: 1. Using organic and mechanical methods of working across a surface; 2. Expanding space by considering the vertical dimension and allowing the body to enter into the process of constructing a surface; 3. Having the characteristics of producing complex organic and/or mechanical systems that refer to painting, sculpture, bookmaking, tiles, textile, computing technologies, as well as printing methods; 4. Evidencing a specific level of skill in their construction as a method of controlling intensity; 5. Connecting to many ideas outside of themselves as a method of expanding the idea of painting or object.
