Huma Bhabha & Alberto Giacometti
Institut GiacomettiTickets available at tinyurl.com/3d9wkmcv The Institut Giacometti presents a new exhibition devoted to the Pakistani-American artist Huma Bhabha (b. 1962, Karachi) in dialogue with the work of Alberto Giacometti. Designed specifically for the Institut Giacometti, the exhibition highlights their shared exploration of representing the human figure somewhere between strength and fragility. Two standing figures created by Huma Bhabha especially for the exhibition, along with heads, sculptures resembling bodily fragments, drawings, and photographs, are brought into confrontation with Giacometti's iconic works such as Walking Man (1960), Leg (1958), Women of Venice (1956), and Large Head (1960). The exhibition is infused with a caustic, dark, biting sense of humor. Its title is taken from a quatrain by the Persian poet Omar Khayyam (1048-1131). Exhibition Curator: Emilie Bouvard
