The Dead Shall be Raised

Gitana Rosa Williamsburg Project Space is proud to present Owen Roberts' immersive installation The Dead Shall be Raised in honor of the weekend-long launch of his mobile app, "Something Ave." An exploration into a lost cell phone and what it contains, Roberts' app bridges the gap between the theoretical and the practical using a contemporary method of storytelling. Working drawings for "Something Ave." accompany the installation. Owen Roberts (Vermont, b. 1985) is an artist and educator based in Brooklyn. His work combines the new media platforms of mobile devices, applications and animation with the traditional media of drawing and writing. He holds a master's degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University and currently teaches at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
