Beyond his activities at Gemini's Los Angeles printmaking studios, Rauschenberg creates five projects that take him and Gemini staff to international locations including France, India, China, Uzbekistan, and Tibet. Collaborating with local craftspeople and indigenous materials, Rauschenberg's belief in the power of art as a catalyst for positive social change is at the heart of his participation in numerous international projects in the 1970s and early 1980s.
