What Holds Things Together

CC Jasper

14 May – 12 July 2026

Juan Manuel Bocca, Marcin Cienski, Eva Dixon, Philipp James Hoffmann, Andrew Nunes, Blair Simmons, Thomas Strasser Stable systems of measurement no longer exist. In mythology, Lachesis measures the thread, deciding only how long it is, not where it begins or ends. This suggests a quandary in our value system: We may attempt to control how long things last, but what remains from before and what emanates newly is a speculative gamble that can be at best, foolishly gambled upon. This exhibition explores what it means to make art today, when measures like institutions, markets, and even attentions are no longer stable, The artists collectively recognize that permanence is no longer as it once was. The artists' works share a sense of tension. Each piece finds its own way to last in a shifting environment. If Lachesis is still measuring, we must ask: What currentforces, if any, hold things together?
