In her first exhibition at Galerie Thomas Fischer she shows images of the 1980s and 1990s mostly drawn from larger series. Eißfeldt presents extracts of the visible world as we may have never considered them before: be it the human face or body or the effects of light, shadow and time on the physical conditions of things. At the same time, the materiality of different papers, textures, and printing techniques as well as the display of the prints on the wall or in a space play a decisive role. ***** Dörte Eißfeldt untersucht seit den späten 1970er Jahren das kreative wie konzeptuelle Potenzial der künstlerischen Fotografie. In ihrer ersten Ausstellung in der Galerie Thomas Fischer sind Bilder der 1980er und 1990er Jahre zu sehen, die meist aus umfangreichen Serien stammen. Eißfeldt zeigt Ausschnitte der sichtbaren Welt, wie wir sie vielleicht noch nie betrachtet haben: seien es das menschliche Gesicht oder der Körper oder die Erscheinung der Dinge unter dem Einfluss von Licht, Schatten und Zeit. Ebenso entscheidend ist die Materialität der verschiedenen Bildträger, Oberflächen und Printtechniken oder auch die Anordnung der Bilder an der Wand wie im Raum.
