Xx, Hekate

Box Shamiran Istifan's solo exhibition Xx, Hekate at City Salts unfolds in our Box. Hekate, a figure from Greek mythology, marks thresholds, transitions, and states of in-betweenness. Within this liminal condition, Istifan’s practice draws on diasporic experience, where fragments of memory and the present condense into shifting constellations. Installation, sculpture, and textile become a field of reconfiguration, where everyday imagery, pop-cultural codes, and personal references are reassembled into layered symbolic structures. Istifan is based in Zurich (CH) and is the recipient of the Manor Art Prize Aarau 2026.
