Both exhibitions are continuing to build on the momentum of last year’s Myriad exhibition. This year’s edition continues our commitment to showcasing a wide and evolving range of global artistic voices. Structured around the metaphorical rhythm of a basketball game, and tapping into the vibrant energy of New York City during the Knicks' season launch, the exhibition explores the dynamic interplay of time, form, and cultural pulse. Divided into two chapters—Season Opener and Open Season—this exhibition brings together a constellation of 27 artists whose practices span media, geography, and conceptual inquiry. Participating artists include Frank Holliday, Kiah Celeste, Ivana Stulic, Simon Benjamin, Lucia Hierro, Joseph Cochran II, NH DePass, Marek Wolfryd, Le’Andra LeSeur, Ioanna Limniou, Amy Bravo, Rodrigo Ramirez, Bai Yiyi, Sonia Jia, Camilla Alberti, Alejandro Garcia Contreras, Luján Pérez, Rodrigo Red Sandoval, Armando Rosales, Sanie Bokhari, and Ute Petit. Collectively, these artists explore some of the most urgent and intimate questions of our time: our evolving relationship to materiality in a technologically saturated world, the impact of global interconnectedness on personal and political identity, and the interior landscapes we navigate during moments of self-interrogation and cultural reckoning. The works on view span sculpture, video, painting, installation, and performance—each contributing to a broader dialogue about perception, transformation, and the power of creative expression to both document and disrupt the contemporary moment. Open Season brings a surge of energy, featuring works by Amy Bravo, Rodrigo Ramirez, Bai Yiyi, Sonia Jia, Camilla Alberti, Alejandro Garcia Contreras, Luján Pérez, Armando Rosales, Sanie Bokhari, and Ute Petit. This closing chapter expands the show’s thematic reach, exploring intersections between mythology and modernity, memory and monumentality, the body and the environment. Throughout both segments, the exhibition foregrounds a chorus of voices—distinct in approach, yet united in their urgency and vision. These artists invite us to think across time, from ancestral memory to speculative futures, and to engage with art as a mode of inquiry, resistance, and reimagining. Together, they form an intricate tapestry of expression, challenging us to see the world not as a fixed narrative, but as a shifting constellation of experience and meaning. Season Opener / Open Season is envisioned as part of a growing annual tradition at Swivel Gallery—an evolving platform through which we celebrate the breadth of our program and offer audiences a multidimensional experience of contemporary art in motion. In a world that demands new ways of seeing and sensing, this exhibition is both a reflection of and a response to the complexities of now.
