KalinerKaliner is delighted to present Jocelyn Fine's second solo show And the Moonbeams Kiss the Sea. And The Moonbeams Kiss The Sea introduces Jocelyn Fine's new body of work in which the boundaries between the material world and the unseen forces that shape our experiences dissolve. Rooted in the belief that the same life forces animate both people and landscapes, Fine anthropomorphizes non-human entities: landmasses commune with celestial bodies, bark appears like skin, and plants seem to dance. By personifying nature in this way, Fine invites viewers to explore our own identity and illustrate how much we share with nature. Jocelyn Fine (b. 1969, Pittsburg, PA) holds a BFA from the University of Vermont and an MS in Architectural Conservation from Columbia University. She studied Painting Conservation at the Istituto Per l’Arte e il Restauro in Florence, Italy, and completed painting conservation internships at the MoMa, the Guggenheim, and the National Museum of the American Indian. Fine’s work is held by private and institutional collectors throughout the United States and Canada. She comes from a multi-generational family of artists, filmmakers, collectors and gallerists.
