KT Hickman, Matt Taber, Dom Smith, Omar Lalani, Cara Perlman, Jarrod Frank, Taylor Stewart, Forrest Knight KT Hickman makes paintings and printed works that draw from consumer language, personal obsession, and the emotional charge of words. The solo exhibition Thirst Asks Nothing More, curated by Leo Fitzpatrick, was presented at Marlborough gallery’s The Viewing Room in New York, NY. Recent group exhibitions included at Sangheeut & Shower Gallery (Seoul, Korea), Marvin Garden (Queens, NY) , Lane Meyer Projects (Denver, CO), and 56 Henry (New York, NY.) Hickman lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Matt Taber is an artist, curator and co-founder of International Objects and International Waters galleries. Taber’s artwork deconstructs the layers of interference that shape and mediate our experience of landscapes and architecture, working across painting, sculpture, installation, video, and writing. His curatorial practice is engaged in a discursive survey of contemporary material culture. Taber has exhibited his work internationally and received his MFA from Columbia University. He also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Taber lives and works in New York. Dom Smith was born in Peoria Illinois and raised in Muscogee County, Georgia. He attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago receiving an MFA in Sculpture. Smith is based in New York City. Omar Lalani lives and works in Queens, New York. His work has been recently exhibited at Vardan Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Vivian Art Gallery, Calgary AB; Lalani-Jennings Gallery, Toronto, ON; 1969 Gallery, New York, New York; Little Sister, Toronto, ON; Project Gallery, Toronto, ON; Avalanche Avalanche, Calgary, AB; Sol Koffler Gallery, Providence, RI; and Woods-Gerry Gallery, Providence, RI. and was the co-founder of Pushmi-Pullyu Gallery, Toronto, ON. He received his BDes from the Alberta University of the Arts, and his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Cara Perlman lives and works in New York City. Perlman holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Art and Design, Jarrod Frank is a painter and sculptor whose work fuses figurative painting and dynamic texture to create an exploration of psychological depth. Working primarily in an impasto style, Jarrod makes vibrant, tactile pieces that merge bold color, thick layers of paint and intuitive expression. Frank lives and works in New York. Taylor Stewart lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Working between painting and sculpture, Taylor’s works are highly saturated gestures that incorporate dark imagery with a tender touch. While often satirical towards painting’s complex history, her works are playful and deeply felt intimate investigations. She has shown her work in several group shows in New York City as well as had solo presentations in Sutton, MA and Grenoble, France. Forrest Knight is a painter who works in New York City and New Hampshire. He graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2013 and from the New York University MFA program in 2024.
