The exhibition features works that highlight the gallery's longtime mission to champion art and artists from South Africa, Africa, and the global South in the historic art centres of the North. This reality of global artistic exchange is further captured by the exhibition's title, at once referring to directions on the New York city subway and also to art from the global South which is claiming its position on the world stage.
