New Galerie[Scroll down for French version / Veuillez trouver ci-dessous la version française] SKY©, a conversational chatbot company, develops avatars that are capable of independently replacing you in visio-meetings, answering your calls, and replying to your texts and emails. But what do they do when you’re not using them? The installation Rivers of Gold features four avatars deserted by their User. This unusual downtime, a disruption of their productivist tasks, forces them to question their condition. If their User is gone for good and SKY© keeps refusing their calls, the four bots might be stuck in this existential limbo forever. On the ground floor, Bear, Hawk and Falcon debate their situation, while Lion lingers in the basement, his phone charging on the wall. Listening to SKY©'s music-on-hold, he hopes someone will pick up. ***** L’entreprise SKY© commercialise des avatars conversationnels expressifs capables de vous remplacer lors d’une visioconférence, de répondre à vos appels, vos messages, vos emails… mais que font ces chatbots lorsque vous n’avez pas besoin d’eux ? L’installation Rivers of gold met en scène 4 avatars abandonnés par leur utilisateur. Ce temps mort inhabituel dans leur continuum productiviste les pousse à s’interroger sur leur condition. Sans nouvelles de leur utilisateur et sans réponse de SKY©, leur situation pourrait bien s’éterniser… Au rez-de-chaussée, un ours, un faucon et un hibou conversent ensemble alors qu’un lion s’est installé au sous-sol pour y recharger son smartphone. Adossé au mur, il patiente au son de la musique d’attente de l’accueil téléphonique de SKY©, espérant que quelqu’un prenne enfin son appel.
