Galerie Hussenot is pleased to present Driving Through the Countryside, Kaspar Müller's first solo exhibition in Paris. The show brings together different body of works, distinct fabrications of the pastoral. Each claims authenticity while performing its distance from it: the countryside as scenery, always framed. Kaspar Müller (b. 1983, Schaffhausen, Switzerland) studied Fine Arts and Media Arts at the University of Art and Design in Basel (HGK Basel) and has worked as an independent artist since 2006. He currently lives and works in Basel, and serves as guest lecturer at the École cantonale d'art de Lausanne (ECAL) since 2015 and as a member of the Art Commission of the City of Basel. Müller's work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at major institutions including Wiels Center for Contemporary Art, Brussels (2022); Vleeshal, Middelburg (2019); Kunsthalle Bern (2013); Kunsthalle Zürich (2013); and Museum zu Allerheiligen, Schaffhausen (2010), where he received the Manor-Preis. He has shown extensively with galleries including Galerie Francesca Pia, Zurich; Société, Berlin; Federico Vavassori, Milan; Aguirre, Mexico City and New York; and The Green Gallery, Milwaukee. His work has been included in significant group exhibitions such as Stop Painting, curated by Peter Fischli at Fondazione Prada, Venice (2021); Europe, Europe, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist at Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo (2014); and presentations at Swiss Institute, New York; MAMCO, Geneva; and Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
