Fractions of Personalities
Carlos AntonioCarlos Antonio / gallery at Blackwood Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of painter Chad Christian. The exhibition features works from Chad’s new works “Fractions of Personalities”. Chad Christian, known colloquially as ‘Chadwick Born in 1982, a native of Chicago and current resident of LA has been influential in the music and art scenes for nearly two decades. His work spans different areas, from visual arts to live music performances to fashion. After studying at the SAIC ( School of the Art Institute of Chicago) Chad began painting live on stage with internationally acclaimed artists including Tony Allen, Lady Sovereign, The cool Kids, and Chicago Afrobeat Project. He was invited by the Lollapalooza Festival in 2007 to be one of their lead festival artists. Chad Christian’s early work takes a strike of influence from urban street art as well as the impressionists with patterns often wrapped around central facial figures. His recent work has focused on a unique approach that layers hand-sculpted micro-shreds. Evoking sculptural and painterly methods. Carlos Antonio started his professional design career at the age of 19 as a stylist at Barney’s New York in Beverly Hills. It is there that he developed his affinity for design and collaborating creatively with others. Industry professionals took notice and introduced Carlos to the world of residential and commercial interior design. After assisting noted designers with commercial and residential spaces, Carlos developed his signature style of composition and his own client base. Carlos’ distinctive art compositions in his own interior design projects led him to curate art and objects for other Interior Designers and collaborate with museums. The Carlos Antonio/ galleries are an extension of Carlos’s fervent love of art, sculpture, and objects. The galleries are thoughtfully curated spaces where all the work created by the artists are exhibited in a harmonious cohesion.
