Midnight Thoughts
Exo ExoYann Stéphane Bisso (b. 1998, Cameroon) lives and works in Geneva. At the heart of his work, he favours painting as a means of exploring identity and socio-political issues. Inspired in particular by the pictorial tradition of landscape, he creates a dreamlike universe that oscillates between memory and imagination, sometimes populated by figures. His work has been exhibited at Centre d'art contemporain, Geneva ; One Gee in Fog, Geneva ; Forde, Geneva ; Hit, Geneva ; Limbo, Geneva. He is the Laureate of the Kiefer Hablitzel Special Prize in 2024 and the Helvetia Art Prize in 2023. Hadrien Jacquelet (b. 1987) lives and works in Paris. His portraits of friends, controversial figures, and himself waver between faithful renditions and synthetic creatures at the turn of our century, addressing the contemporary perceptions of the self, genders and identities in relationship to the present world. He has participated in group and solo exhibitions at Del Vaz Projects, Los Angeles ; Profil, Paris ; Galerie Dina Vierny, Paris ; Converso, Milan ; M+B Gallery, Los Angeles. Regina Parra (b. 1984, Sao Paulo) lives and works between Sao Paulo and New York. Regina Parra employs mythology and pagan references in performances, installations, and paintings to reclaim the female body from male narrativization. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as Pinacoteca, São Paulo ; Jewish Museum, New York ; MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art, Barcelona ; Mana Contemporary, Chicago ; Americas Society, New York ; Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea, Milan ; Le Crédac, Ivry-sur-Seine ; Museu Nacional de Lisboa, Lisbon. Regina Parra was awarded the 3M Public Art Award, SP-Art Fair Prize, Joaquim Nabuco Foundation's Award, and Videobrasil Award. She was also nominated for the Emerging Artists Award--Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation.
