Galerie L'InlassableBorn in 1995, Nicolas Coquelet Gaume studies painting at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Soixante-Quatre is his first solo exhibition. It consists of five paintings, which stand like fragments of a shattered image. From this lost and obsessing image remain only abstract and intriguing details. This strange portrait emerging from the shadows might give us a key. The delicate care for the material, the limestone coating on canvas, are ways of exploring a mysterious figuration. But the painter’s technique won’t give us any answers, leaving us facing pure moments of colour.
