James Cohan

James Cohan is a contemporary art gallery co-founded by James and Jane Cohan in 1999, now operating spaces in Tribeca and the Lower East Side. The gallery represents established and emerging international artists working across painting, sculpture, video, installation, and photography. With a history spanning six locations including a satellite in Shanghai, James Cohan has been instrumental in championing artists such as Trenton Doyle Hancock, Fred Tomaselli, and Bill Viola, and recently joined five other Manhattan galleries in establishing "The Campus," a collaborative art space in Columbia County.
