About

Founded in 1932 by Herman Baron, Stuart Davis, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, and Adolf Dehn, ACA Galleries is a pioneer in exhibiting contemporary American art by African Americans, minorities, and women artists. The gallery hosted the inaugural meetings of the American Artists' Congress in 1935, which catalyzed the Federal Art Project and WPA programs supporting artists during the Great Depression. Now led by fourth-generation owner Casey Bergen, the gallery specializes in 19th and 20th century American art including American Impressionism, Ashcan school, regionalism, and abstract expressionism.
